Do you have fifty percent of your working day free to work on things outside of your normal remit?

Do you have extensive knowledge of construction, computer aided design, logistics, building & fire regulations, furniture design, and dealing with numerous sub contractors?

In most cases the answer to all of these questions will be a resounding no. But all over the country people, (and it could be you, or your staff), are struggling to project manage a company refurbishment or move, whilst still carrying out their normal activities. The result is at best seriously stressed out people, and at worst a project that has over ran, and is seriously over budget, with your companies business suffering.  

To avoid this scenario many companies are increasing looking to employ the services or a professional interiors company, who can coordinate all the aspects of a project, and leave the client free to get on with what they do best.

Such items as the position of data cabling, electrics and lighting need to be decided on early in a project. Interiors companies will produce a layout on which to base the location of these, along with a space plan for the positioning of desks, and partitions. This can avoid costly mistakes later in the job. You may also need advice on building and fire regulations, which is essential when altering an interior layout, both of these will require drawings to support any application. Most off the shelf solutions do not fit exactly, but by using a specialist company, you can have the project tailored to your environment. You should also get advice on colour schemes, storage solutions, and some companies will even go as far as to offer a complete turn key project, which can literally mean that you and your staff leave one building on Friday night, and come in to work on Monday morning in a new office with everything ready to go. Because you only have one contractor, you will also have much more control, as you only have one point of contact.   

In most cases the cost of using such a company is not prohibitive. Most interiors companies have far greater buying power then an individual company, and provide their contractors with regular work all year round. This means that the client should not pay appreciably more then using individual companies.

So if you are currently planning a move or refurbishment, or are struggling to juggle a stressful project along with your normal duties, you really should consider giving a interiors company a call. Most will not charge for any of the advice they give, and indeed many will not charge for initial site surveys, or drawings. If you want to retain more control you can always employ the company as a consultant. That why for a fee, you will get the benefit of the companies’ expertise and can then put the project out to tender with a full and comprehensive specification. Many companies who offer consultancy will also waive the fee, if you ultimately award the project to them. Either way the advantages in time saved, avoiding costly mistakes & elevating some if not all of the stress from a project, makes using such a company a very attractive proposition in deed.
